First thing is that I do not really recall exactly who played for the Baboons. I remember that a few Giants helped us a lot (Hank, Bai, Shiao-Hei at least) as well as 2 Taichung players (Robbie and Wray).
Anyway, we had the field advantage and the non-drinking advantage against a pretty solid Rhinos team who arrived still a little bit drunk from the previous night thanks to Barry!!!!
The good thing is that all the Baboons were on-time on the pitch but we were still reluctant for a good warm up …
Also I do not recall perfectly the game as it was 3weeks ago … but anyway below is what I have seen it. |

What do you know? The Taiwan 7's national squad actually showed up and played us last weekend! Just to refresh your mind, their coach contacted me two or three weeks prior to HK 7's wanting to play practice matches against us... Unfortunately for "financial" reasons, they could not get enough "bus fare" and therefore had to cancel the arrangement... WTF... Anyway, this time on game day, in typical Baboons’ fashion, it was us who kept them waiting for a good 20 minutes after the supposed kick-off time... and Evan the ref was on time this time! I was panicking a little, especially after a couple of late withdrawals but in the ended we were OK with numbers. |

You could quite well say that yesterday's effort was quite a decent game for us and for many a very enjoyable one. Although the field still needs a bit of work and there were some concerns about dudes injuring themselves because of it- there weren't any major incidents and our team of 15 came through quite well. (besides Paddles who is having an ongoing affinity going with dog excretions - bad week). |

The last game of sevens and the last Baboons act of 2008 was a marvelous spectacle with everything in it. Passion, skill, determination, stand-out moments and perhaps a bit of man-loving in between. So much for the opposition. |

We had an epic tour on Saturday 18Apr … and here below is the history as I know it. Of course some players may argue that my knowledge about history is somewhat different … if not limited.
First it is important to note that it was a Tri-City 10's comp @ Fen Jia Universty in Tai-Chung on Saturday, 18 April 2009 … all is accurate until now … the rest is the history as per me. |
